According to PANews, on 16 April, The Block reported that since the launch of the United States spot Bitcoin ETF on 11 January, the greyscale GBTCbit currency holdings have been reduced by half in about three months. Unlike the nine new ETFs introduced by Belede and Fuda, the pre-Grey Bitcoin Trust was not launched from scratch, but converted to ETF — it held about 619,220 bitcoins at the start of the Bitcoin spot deal.

The information disclosed by GBTC as of Monday indicates that its Bitcoin holdings subsequently decreased by about 50 per cent, to around 311,621, and that it also charged a much higher fee than its competitors. For example, GBTC charged a fee of 1.5 per cent, compared with the current fee of 0.12 per cent charged by IBIT under the Belaid flag. However, given the simultaneous increase in Bitcoin prices since the launch of the spot ETF, GBTC managed a smaller decline in dollar-denominated assets, from $28.7 billion on 11 January to $19.8 billion, or 31 per cent.

In terms of the market share held by Bitcoin, IBIT in Belede and FBTC in Fuda have been the main beneficiaries. The data show that, as of yesterday, the market share of GBTC had fallen from 100% on the day of issuance to 37.3%, during which time IBIT received 32.2%, and FBTC ranked third with 17.8%. The total assets held by all United States spot ETF in Bitcoin are currently close to 840,000 BTCs, accounting for more than 4% of its total supply of 21 million Bitcoin.
