On 25 December, Zhejiang released the latest data, reporting that the number of new positives had reached one million, and that Zhejiang was expected to enter the high-level platform before and after New Year’s Day, with a maximum of 2 million new positives expected to last at a peak of around a week. According to incomplete statistics, in more than a month, there were approximately 66 professors and staff in various higher education institutions who died.

在币圈大佬们被全球通缉、神秘失踪，甚至离奇死亡的事件中，最近又有一位被捕。据媒体报道，12月13日，加密货币交易所FTX创始人萨姆·班克曼-弗里德在巴哈马被捕，此前他受到美国检察官的刑事指控。美国政府更是指控称，其实施了美国历史上最大的金融欺诈案之一。
According to media reports, on 13 December, Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of the crypto-currency exchange FTX, was arrested in The Bahamas after being charged with a criminal offence by a US prosecutor. The US government is further accused of committing one of the biggest financial frauds in US history.

As the story of the scam rages, pre-star products have been subject to litigation. In a class action suit, a number of front-line stars, including Madonna, Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton, and Gwenice Patro, were accused of fraud, on behalf of their boring ape yacht club (BAYC). The allegation was that Yuga Labs, known as BayC NFT, had violated unfair competition laws, and they asked celebrities to promote NFT without disclosing the corresponding promotional compensation.

In August 2020, when the Pace Gallery announced the creation of Superblue, no one thought that it would be shut down in just two years. As the initial stage of research and development of PaceX, a new technology plate, the Centre for Empirical Arts was scheduled to be inaugurated in Miami, covering nearly 3,000 square metres. In recent days, two of the most important participants in the project, Mark Grimcher, Chief Executive Officer of the Pace Gallery, and the Emerson Group, created by Lauren Powell Jobs, have been withdrawn.

中国当代艺术年鉴展正式启动
Chinese contemporary art yearbook exhibition officially launched
12月20日，“中国当代艺术年鉴展（北京）2021”正式对外开放。本次北京展览共展出25位（组）艺术家原作，占据北京798艺术区的798艺术中心的两层空间，并与距此不远的北京大学中国当代艺术档案馆进行一年的文献和研究成果的展示。
On 20 December, the “China Contemporary Art Yearbook Exhibition (Beijing) 2021” was officially opened to the public. A total of 25 original (group) artists were present at this Beijing exhibition, which took up two floors of the 798 art centre in the 798 art district of Beijing, and presented a year of literature and research with the Chinese Contemporary Art Archives of Beijing University, which is not far away.
中国当代艺术年鉴展是以年度为期，对中国艺术现状的检阅与展现。此次展览是基于2021年2891个展览，通过广泛的调查、阅读和深入的研究，结合3850种文献，统计出111位（组）艺术家为代表，并以本年度14个专题来集中呈现中国当代艺术的发展现状。
China's Contemporary Art Yearbook Festival is annual. The exhibition is based on 2,891 exhibitions in 2021, representing 111 (group) artists through extensive surveys, readings and in-depth research in a combination of 3,850 literatures, and focuses on the current state of contemporary art development in China with 14 topics for the current year.
该展览反映了《年鉴》所记录的中国艺术的探索，以及2021年以来出现的新的代际转向。虽然国内展场和国情有所限制，但从全球范围的表现来看，中国当代艺术整体成果还在突破，在艺术的观念上已经全面地和世界平齐。同时，当代艺术的最新发展显现出一个与科技相结合的特殊而集中的方向。
The exhibition reflects the exploration of Chinese art as documented in the Yearbook, as well as the new intergenerational shift that has taken place since 2021. Although there are limitations in the domestic arena and national circumstances, the overall achievements of contemporary Chinese art, in terms of global performance, are still breaking out, and the concept of art is comprehensive and world-class.

12月11日，首届“艺见中轴——深圳福[+]公共艺术季”在深圳福田区中轴云廊和深圳节日大道开展。本届公共艺术季为深圳创意十二月揭开新的篇章，并将持续至2023年2月12日，陪伴市民朋友们共度元旦和新春佳节。
On December 11, the first edition of the “Axis of the Enlightenment – Shenzhen Fuxun [+] Public Arts Season” will be held on the Mid-Axis Corridor and the Shenzhen Festival Avenue in Shenzhen Fukuda District. This public art season will open a new chapter for Shenzhen's creative December and will continue until February 12, 2023, to accompany citizens and friends on New Spring Festival.

The exhibition of Zhang's ink works is taking place in Hong Kong.
12月21日，张子康首个香港水墨个展“之间”于结好中心开幕。展览通过“镜墨”“醉墨”“顽墨”三个系列，展示了张子康在绘画创作实践中的风格嬗变。作品大多数以自然和生命为题，于细微之处表达富有层次感的艺术灵魂，他的艺术不局限于呈现自然的表象，然则是在勾勒生命的脉络和超然物外的心境。
On December 21, Zhang’s first Hong Kong ink exhibition “between” opened at the Centre for Companion. The exhibition showed Zhang’s style changed in the practice of drawings through three series of mirrors, “intoxicated ink.” Most of the work was about nature and life, expressing a cultured artistic soul in a nuance, and his art was not limited to the appearance of nature, but was outside the context of sketching the pulse of life and transcendents.
其中，剪纸装置《远去》引起现场观众的连连称赞，点线面、黑白灰的要素，又融入西方版画的技法，展现了剪纸艺术的生命力和表现力。这是中国国家级非物质文化遗产蔚县剪纸项目省级代表性传承人周利伟以张子康的画作《远去》为题，联袂创作出了一件做工精巧、形象生动的装置艺术作品。

近日，第22届那不勒斯文化经典奖颁奖典礼在意大利举办。本届艺术家奖中国唯一的获奖者、艺术家、广东美术馆馆长王绍强，通过网络联线远程出席了颁奖典礼，该奖项主席卡明·阿多利诺为王绍强远程颁奖。
Recently, the 22nd Naples Cultural Classic Award ceremony was held in Italy. Wang Shaoqiang, China’s only winner, artist, and director of the Guangdong Gallery of Fine Arts, participated remotely in the award ceremony via the Internet and its president, Camine Adolino, presented the award remotely for Wang Shaoqiang.

The award was awarded to creative and personal personalities in the field of culture, art, science and law. “Though Wang Shaqiang has taught a wealth of artistic works, wide influence in international design, branding, dissemination and cultural trends, and through his outstanding achievements in the arts management of the Guangdong Gallery and in the teaching activities of the Guangzhou School of Fine Arts, we awarded Professor Wang Shaqiang/Artist the 2022 Naples Classic Culture Award.

皮力出任大馆艺术事务主管

12月24日消息，香港文化艺术机构大馆委任皮力于2023年2月13日起出任艺术事务主管一职，托比亚斯·伯格将以顾问身份留任特约策展人至2024年。
On 24 December, it was reported that Pil had been appointed to the post of Chief of Arts in the Hong Kong Cultural and Art Institute as of 13 February 2023, and that Tobias Berg would remain as a consultant to perform the functions of the Special Adviser until 2024.

12月25日至2023年3月24日，期待已久的“异形之父”汉斯·鲁埃迪·吉格尔，与未来主义和机械审美创作先驱空山基的中国首次双人展“吉格尔与空山基：明日迫近”，在 UCCA Lab 北京艺术空间展出。
From 25 December to 24 March 2023, the long-awaited “Father of the Alien”, Hans Ruedi Giggle, and the first Chinese two-person exhibition, “Giggles and Skysanki: approaching tomorrow”, with the vanguard of futureism and mechanical aesthetic writing, took place in the UCCA Lab Beijing Art Space.
本次展出两位艺术家自20世纪60年代至今创作的45件（组）作品，涵盖具有代表性的雕塑、喷绘及装置作品，以并置的形式构建作品与艺术家同观众的视觉对话。基于两位艺术家的共同点和强烈反差所产生的吸引力和冲突感，碰撞出一触即发的戏剧张力。
The exhibition featured 45 works (groups) by two artists from the 1960s to the present, covering representative sculptures, sprays, and devices, building visual dialogue between the work and the artist and the audience in parallel. On the basis of the attractions and conflicting feelings generated by the two artists' common points and strong contrasts, there was a collision of hair-trigger drama tension.

Despite the great differences in the style of the two artists, Giggle's quest for dark black beauty and mystical air, and the absence of mountain-based robotics that paint the light and reveal the wonders of the soul, their continued exploration and quest for organic integration of living organisms and machines have shown a bold vision of the future of the world's human existence. The exhibition title, “Tomorrow approaching,” is intended to emphasize the urgency of thinking about the relationship between life, nature, and technology, transcending the single perspective of human centrismism and triggering a broader concern about the diversity of life forms and implications.

UCCA年末双展盛大开启

12月23日至2023年4月9日，北京UCCA尤伦斯当代艺术中心同时推出中外两位艺术家的个展：“张如怡：低声细语”“杰夫·奥本海默：逆向度的人”，它们分别是张如怡近年来最大的机构个展，以及杰夫·奥本海默在中国举办的首次个展。
From 23 December to 9 April 2023, the Centre for Contemporary Arts in UCCA Urens, Beijing, launched a parallel exhibition of two artists from China and China: “Jan Yee: whispering nuances” and “Jeff Oppenheimer: people in reverse direction”, which were the largest institutional exhibition in recent years and the first in China by Jeff Oppenheimer.
作为张如怡近期规模最大的机构个展，展览重点呈现了艺术家受委托创作的20余件最新装置作品，系统梳理了艺术家以仙人掌、混凝土和网格等元素为代表符号的艺术实践对当下人与社会、人与建筑空间、自然与工业之间关系的探讨，并首次有针对性地呈现其对玻璃、塑料薄膜等透明标准化生产材料的运用，以及对材料背后所隐含的透明性之多重意向的思考。
As one of the largest institutional exhibitions in the recent past, the exhibition focused on more than 20 new pieces of device commissioned by artists, and the system combing of artists' artistic practices in the form of symbols such as cactus, concrete and grids to explore the relationship between present-day people and society, humans and building space, nature and industry, and for the first time to present the application of transparent and standardized production materials such as glass, plastic film, as well as thinking about the multiplicity of intents to be transparent behind the material.

For more than 20 years, Oppenheimer has analysed social, political and image- and object-related connections in the media of sculptures, videos, sketches and photography. The exhibit displays the latest works of artists commissioned by UCCA through specially constructed walls, carpets, bulk-produced items and raw materials. The three metal sculptures highlighted each represent three important character prototypes of contemporary society: merchants, flagmen, and observers.

原广东省美协主席汤小铭病逝
Mr. Yu Xiaoming, Chairman of the American Association of the former Guangdong Province, died.
12月24日，原广东省美术家协会主席、广东画院艺术顾问、著名油画家、一级美术师、享受国务院政府特殊津贴的汤小铭在广州病逝，享年83岁。
On 24 December, the President of the former Guangdong Association of Fine Artsmen, the art adviser at the Guangdong Gallery, a well-known painter, a first-class artist and a special subsidy from the Government of the State Council, Tang Xiaoming, died in Guangzhou, where he was 83 years old.
汤小铭，男，1939年8月生于广西桂林市，籍贯广西灵川，1964年毕业于广州美术学院油画系，同年进入广东画院任专职画家。曾多次入选全国美展并获奖，多次被全国美术作品展聘为评选和评奖委员。2011年6月退休，2022年获第三届“广东文艺终身成就奖”。
Yu Xiaoming, male, born in August 1939 in the city of Guangxi Guilingen, Guangxi Lingchuan, graduated from the Guangzhou School of Fine Arts in 1964 as a full-time painter at the Guangdong Painting Institute. He was selected and awarded a number of prizes in the National Fair of Fine Arts, and he was appointed as a member of the National Council for Selection and Evaluation of Fine Arts. He retired in June 2011 and received the Third Guangdong Prize for Life in Arts in 2022.

著名动画艺术家吴冠英病逝
The death of the famous animator, Crown Young Wu.
12月20日，清华大学美术学院教授、博士生导师，杰出的艺术教育家，著名动画艺术家，中国风格动画与漫画艺术教育的开拓者吴冠英在北京病逝，享年67岁。
On 20 December, the founder of Chinese-style animation and comic art education, Wang Young Wu, died in Beijing when he was 67 years old, a professor and doctoral teacher at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Qinghua University, an outstanding art educator, a well-known animated artist.
吴冠英1978年考入中央工艺美术学院装潢美术系，1982年7月毕业留校任教。他是2008年北京奥运会吉祥物“福娃”创作组主要成员，是五娃方案的最初提出者，同时还完成了2008年北京残奥会吉祥物“福牛乐乐”的设计。2011年起，他为我国生肖文化的传承与推广创作了系列众多、门类丰富、人民群众喜闻乐见的作品，是我国吉祥文化在现代日常生活中传承与发展的引领者。
In 1978, he was admitted to the Faculty of Fine Arts and Fine Arts of the Central Institute of Fine Arts and graduated from the School of Fine Arts in July 1982. He was a leading member of the creation of the 2008 Beijing Olympic mascot “Fawva” and was the original sponsor of the five-wa programme, and he also completed the design of the 2008 Beijing Paralympic mascot “Fu Nun Lei”. Since 2011, he has produced a series of rich and popular works for the heritage and promotion of our rich and popular culture, and he is the guide to the transmission and development of our blessed culture in modern daily life.

艺术家周涛病逝，享年59岁
The artist Zhou Tao died and was 59 years old.
12月20日，艺术家、北京服装学院美术学院周涛在北京病逝，享年59岁。周涛，1963年10月出生于河南南阳，1987年考入中央工艺美术学院特艺系，师从袁运甫和杜大恺。1991年至北京服装学院工艺美术系任教，后于美术学院公共艺术系任教。
On 20 December, Zhou Tao of the School of Fine Arts of the Institute of Artists and Clothing of Beijing died in Beijing, when he was 59 years old. Zhou Tao, born in October 1963, was admitted to the Department of Special Arts of the Central Institute of Crafts and Fine Arts in 1987, where he was taught in the Faculty of Technical Arts and Fine Arts of the Beijing School of Clothing from 1991 to 1991 and later in the Faculty of Public Arts of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
周涛在教学之余，创作颇丰，在中国画、油画、壁画、雕塑、书法等门类皆有涉猎，其作品清新淡雅，风格独具。周涛擅长壁画设计，留下了很多优秀的艺术作品。他在公共艺术专业从事壁画课程教学成果丰富，创作的壁画从意境中寻求画面的诗意，线条悠扬舒展，画面层次丰富。
In addition to his teachings, Zhou Tao has been very creative, and he has been involved in drawings, paintings, murals, sculptures, and book law in China, and he has a fine, fresh and unique style. Zhou Tao is very good at mural design, leaving behind many excellent works of art. He is very successful in teaching murals in the public art profession.
